Min Zhu
From a Chinese farmer to a Silicon Valley hero, Min has over 20-year experiences in high-technology industry in US and gets strong global reputation by his legendary business experience and outstanding innovation achievements.
Min was born in Ning bo, Zhejiang Province, China. In 1985, Min got an MS in Management Science Engineering from Stanford University after graduating from Zhejiang University in China. Min has extensive knowledge and experiences in computer science and web communication spaces. He developed the “Real Time Interactive Multi-media Communication Technology”, regarded as The Next Generation of Communication.
Min founded Future Labs in 1991 and was acquired by Quarterdeck for $13million in 1996. Thereafter Min co-founded and served as President and CTO of WebEx Communications, Inc. (Nasdaq: WEBX), which was acquired by Cisco for $3.2 billion dollars in may 2007. WebEx, the leader in real time collaboration web services, has been named to the Forbes list of 25 Fastest-Growing Technology Companies for 5 consecutive years.
In 2004, Min joined NEA (New Enterprise Associates) as a Venture Partner. He worked closely with NEA's information technology and healthcare practices in sourcing and evaluating new investment opportunities with a focus on opportunities in the expanding Chinese market. In 2005, in order to pay back to his otherland, Min resigned from WebEx and went back to China, founded Cybernaut (China) Capital. As one of China’s pioneering investment funds, Cybernaut focuses its investments on eServices in finance, educations, healthcare, retail and media sectors based on strong Information Technology platforms.
As one of outstanding alumni in Zhejiang University, Min dominated $10million to the University, and set up a non-profit organization, Zhejiang University Innovation Institute (ZII), International. ZII is dedicated for global innovation and entrepreneurial exchange, commercialize university R&D efforts and nurturing local entrepreneurship.
